Greenville, NC – April 18, 2018 – The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC recently appointed Whitney Williams, Greenville native and Account Supervisor at McKeeman Communications, to their Board of Directors.
From a young age, Williams was familiar with the mission of the Ronald McDonald House, as her mother was among the first to stay at the House in 1988 following the birth of her first born son at Pitt Memorial Hospital. As the years passed, her family continued to support the House and donated in various ways and Williams, herself, was able to reconnect with the organization professionally through her client work with McDonald’s and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina (RMHC of NC).
“Having the opportunity to work closely with an organization that does so much to help families who are experiencing the same hardship that my family did, is so special to me,” said Williams. “I, personally, understand the worries and the struggles that these families go through while having to support and care for a child in the hospital. Through the Ronald McDonald House, we are proud to take away some of those concerns by offering a shower, a place to sleep, and something to eat – a home away from home.”
Williams, a six-year employee with McKeeman Communications, has been working with RMHC of NC throughout her tenure and has helped develop and manage its fundraisers with 300-plus McDonald’s restaurants across the state. Locally in Greenville, she also partnered with Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC Executive Director, Meghan Woolard, on a variety of different initiatives – including the grand opening of the Ronald McDonald House inside James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital.
