The Golden Owl Tavern is located near the campus of UNC Charlotte. They offer a variety of simply great food and drink, including regional classics with a twist, local craft beers, classic and creative cocktails and a compelling wine list. No doubt an exciting new local place for the people of Charlotte.
In March of 2021, McKeeman Communications was brought onto this exciting time as a PR partner, to announce the grand opening of The Golden Owl Tavern. The Golden Owl Tavern is a part of The Sage Restaurant Concepts’ newest restaurant and first venture in Charlotte and North Carolina. The goal is for the brand to build awareness and a sense of excitement for the dynamic concept it brings to an area of the city that has yet to see growth around the restaurant scene.

Over a span of four weeks our team worked with the Golden Owl Tavern team to provide media training, draft media materials and pitch local news outlets about the restaurant’s grand opening.
McKeeman secured 30 media mentions across top television outlets, newspaper and online publications resulting in an estimated audience reach of 9.5M.
The Golden Owl Tavern is still experiencing a rapid growth because of the hard work they put in for creating a brand awareness with Mckeeman Communications.
Social Media Influencers bring business
Capitalizing on the large number of foodie influencers in Charlotte, McKeeman coordinated and enlisted more than 15 social and community influencers to dine at the restaurant for a VIP tasting and help promote the opening and awareness of the restaurant. Guests were provided with a special tasting menu and swag bag to thank them for their partnership.
Six weeks of tastings garnered more than 150 pieces of content shared by influencers and an estimated audience reach of more than 280K - helping to grow Golden Owl Tavern’s social platforms by 500 followers. The start of the brand awareness we were hoping for!
